Dangana Foundation is a pioneering licensed health and social care service committed to revolutionising mental health care across Ghana, particularly in the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Northern and Western regions. Drawing inspiration from the Real Insight organization in the UK, our foundation integrates co-design, inclusivity, and innovative practices to develop effective mental health solutions. Our team, comprised of individuals with lived mental health experiences, collaborates closely with service users, carers, and professionals. This synergy ensures our services are empathetic, comprehensive, and tailored to meet the unique needs of the Ghanaian population.

Dangana Foundation is committed to creating job opportunities and supporting individuals in Ghana in their transition from dependence to independence. Meet the visionary behind dangana

Nashiru Momori

Nash is the Founder and Director of Dangana Foundation
A pioneering licensed health and social care service provider across Ghana aimed to transform Services and communities through User Involvement and Training.

Nash and his Team’s recovery journey experiences have enabled him to realise the importance of a holistic approach to recovery, which aims to give people more control over their health and care. Their principal belief is seeing Service Users as assets beyond their challenges or diagnosis.

With a background in Psychotherapy, Nash’s roles include peer support, providing insight on recovery-oriented practices to mental health organisations from strategic to front line levels, linking offenders and ex-offenders with a range of resettlement, education, training, volunteering and employment opportunities. As well as, supporting people with complex and multiple needs with their resettlement into the community.

Nash is an Ambassador of mental health with an extensive experience in shaping health and social care Services globally. He also works with fellow Service Users, frontline staff and senior and strategic management teams across a range of organisations as a Consultant, Trainer and Adviser.

Nash is currently an Expert User Consultant with West London NHS Mental Health Trust. And the lead expert advisor to ACG (Active Care Group) one of the leading private Care Service Providers in United Kingdom

Nash founded Real-Insight Consultancy in UK and is the owner of Diversity Radio a Community Well-being Project across the world aimed at addressing stigma, inspiring and shifting Culture.

Peter Hasler RN (Mental Health) MBA

Peter has over 35 years experience in the NHS working at executive level.  He developed world class, award-winning services as well as advising on international service developments in mental health for Iraq and Egypt. He has been supporting mental health developments in Ghana since 2019.

Peter coordinates the work programme for the National Mental Health Nurse Directors forum and is actively involved in mental health and learning disability activity across the NHS taking the lead role in the development of aspiring directors and Nurse Consultants.  Peter has been running national ward manager and team leader leadership training for the last 11 years.  Peter has is also a trustee of Choice Support – one of the biggest providers of learning disability services in England.

Peter trained as an executive coach in 2014 and coaches both individuals and groups with particular emphasis on senior clinical and managerial leadership and career development.

Dr. Lawrence Kofi Acheampong

Supt./Dr. (Med) Lawrence Kofi Acheampong is a distinguished forensic security expert with a specialized focus on addiction treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery programs. As the President of the African Correctional Healthcare Professionals Network (ACHN), he is deeply committed to improving healthcare within correctional facilities across Africa.

With an MB, ChB in Medicine and Surgery, an MPhil in General Forensics, an MBA in Health Management, and a BSc in Human Biology, Dr. Acheampong’s academic background is robust and multidisciplinary. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Forensics with a focus on Chemical Pathology and holds a Diploma in Forensic and Legal Medicine from the Faculty of Forensic & Legal Medicine, UK.

Dr. Acheampong is a member of several prestigious organizations, including the Faculty of Forensic & Legal Medicine (MFFLM-UK), the African Society of Forensic Medicine, the American College of Correctional Physicians (ACCP), the International Academy for Certified Disaster & Emergency, Criminology and Forensic Professionals (IACDECFP-UK), and the International Institute of Certified Forensic Investigation Professionals (IICFIP-USA).

Zebulun Anyetei Sowah

Sowah is a dedicated recovery advocate with 8 years of experience in facilitating the recovery process for individuals struggling with drug use disorders. A former addict himself, Zebulun’s personal journey fuels his passion for helping others break free from the grip of addiction.

His work focuses on assisting drug addicts in their recovery, with a broader mission to depopulate the ghettos and reduce crime in communities and nations at large. Zebulun is also committed to educating the youth about the dangers of mood-altering substances and their potential harm to physical and mental health.

Through his work, Zebulun aims to foster healthier, safer societies by empowering individuals to overcome addiction and reclaim their lives.

A product of Adisadel College and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana.

Ten years banking experience at the Ghana Commercial Bank from 1981 to 1992.

Completed a special Travel and Tour management training in 1992 under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Ghana organised by the University of Minnesota and Midwestern Universities Consortium for Activities, certified by World Tourism Organisation under United Nations Development Programme.

Completed Public Relations and Desktop Publishing from Georgia State University in Tourism Capacity Development Initiative.

Shade Adegoke is a collaborative and results-driven PMO Analyst and Project Management Consultant with over a decade of experience in leading and supporting complex projects across various sectors. At Dangana Foundation, Shade has worked closely with a diverse group of talented professionals, managing governance standards and ensuring seamless project execution. Her role has involved developing program-level plans, managing RAID logs, and overseeing financial controls, all while fostering a collaborative environment where every team member’s contribution is valued. Shade’s ability to mentor and support her colleagues has been a cornerstone of her approach, helping to drive projects forward in alignment with organizational goals.

One of the most rewarding projects Shade has been part of was the launch and operationalization of fully functional studios for Diversity Radio. This achievement was the result of a shared vision and the dedicated efforts of a cross-functional team. Shade took pride in coordinating the various technical, logistical, and creative inputs, ensuring that each team member’s expertise was harnessed to deliver a successful outcome. The project’s success was a true reflection of what can be achieved when collaboration and shared purpose drive the process.

Shade’s educational background in Accounting & Finance and her PRINCE2 certification provide a strong foundation for her work, but it is her commitment to building strong relationships and fostering a culture of mutual respect that truly sets her apart. She believes that the best outcomes are achieved when every voice is heard, and every team member is empowered to contribute to the fullest.
